I need to be more intentional....

I should be more intentional about blogging.  We do so much that i haven't shared here. Tonight we are at a youth choir festival at out church. There are over 500 kids here from around Alabama. JE sang in the youth for our church. I was so blessed.....

Finally

Finally this week we got started on school. And even this week I have been busy doing an assortment of out if the ordinary things. The last day for takeins for the kids consignment sale was Monday. So I had to finish up entering everything then carry it. Even then I couldnt stay and put everything up in its proper place. Tuesday morning there was a MOPS meeting. Then we did some school then back to the consignment sale to put my things up.  What a day that was. Today we got more school done then went to the sale to help. Tomorrow is shop day! Tonight to church for children's choir and have a new family by friday bible study. It was great. But I have so much to do. I am anxious to get into a routine and get some work behind us. Jacob is slow getting started. Well he is gungho to start but fizzles quickly. We will work on it. Diligence and time management.  Below us a picture of Ruby as we leave church.

cleaning out, time management

Today was spent pulling out old clothes the little kids had outgrown and  sneezing. Then entering them into the computer and sneezing. Then printing the tags and sneezing. Then cutting them out and pinning them to the corresponding article of clothing and sneezing. Needless to say my allergies don't like it when it's time for the consignment sale! And for the life of me I don't understand, why someone who is soooo allergic to the kind of dust that just builds up on too much stuff lying around and in closets, would have so much stuff lying around and in closets. But this should be a good sale. I will have a lot to take. It will be priced to sell and I need the money to buy the bigger kids some new clothes. I will buy the little kids some clothes at the sale, but not as much as I have been. I have been buying them too much. Then when I get my check at the end of the sale I will split it 3 ways between the other bigger kids. I am really looking forward to it and so is dd because she gets new clothes, shoes and a few toys. So far I have about $450 logged in to the computer to sell and I am not nearly done. I have just got to push through the next several days and get it done well and thoroughly. I will be so glad that I did. It has been a long day and I need to work on using my time more wisely. I didn't today. I could have done better. Too much electronics and not enough plain old work and getting stuff done. (I did say this was supposed to also help me be more accountable :)  )

starting blog

I have started this blog to be able to journal our homeschool journey as well as the journey we are on to be more like Christ. I will keep up with what is going on in homeschool and what is going on with our post homeschoolers (our college kids) and how we try to make all of this work.
A quick recap of the last couple of weeks: as it has become our custom and I don't have any idea why it seems to work out this way, we went to the zoo at the beginning of the school year. This past week I have been ordering books, and having to rework a curriculum for U.S. History because the teacher I thought was going to teach this class at a local church has backed out. I have also discovered that the Physics I had picked out and purchased is not going to work. Ds is going to have to finish algebra before taking it. SOOO that means that I am on the look out for a new science curriculum also. He is wanting to take anatomy and I'm fine with that. It's just a matter of finding the books.
Also my sweet dd will begin kindergarten this year. I am excited about homeschooling her. I want learning to be so fun to her and she is so smart already. And she loves Jesus and is so mindful of what the bible says about this or that. Learning is a beautiful thing...
But also on my plate over the next two or three days is trying to get items together for the children's consignment sale coming up. I plan to get things together for the sale and be very specific about what I will purchase for the two younger ones so that I can hopefully have the left over money to buy clothes and what not for the older kids. I am looking forward to working on this blog and using it as a kind of accountability tool as well.
